Seasons Closing Ceremony

The cicadas hum their tune in unison
a verse that feels like the final line of a summer play.

They partner with the birds who sing a song all their own, beautifully off key.

Sounds of neighbors in the apricots fill the air, the final curtain is prepared to drop on this warm season.

Before we know it the cool whisper of winter will fill our ears and send a welcome chill down our necks.
