Stand Alone

The tree stands alone,

Unnatural for the middle

of a forest.

It is quiet and strong

small now but it will grow

the roots run deep

reaching for life

for security

for stability

it is strange that no trees surround

like it was set out to be the one

it stands majestic on its own

needing nothing and no one

the sun shines on it

making the outline of beauty

almost as if it shown just for

the lucky person who happens

to walk on by
